Founded in March of 2014 by David and Lois Shelton, Shelton’s Place is a family project managed by the Sheltons along with their children.  David Shelton thought he was building the barn he had always envisioned, which began as an actual 2400 square foot working barn with tractors, hay storage, and a tool room.  Little did David know, that barn was to be the beginning of what has now become Shelton’s Place.

Family members always seemed to ask about “borrowing” the barn for graduation parties and birthday parties.  After David and Lois’ oldest granddaughter got married and had to use an out of town venue, it didn’t take too much convincing that Lufkin needed a wedding/event venue.  Shelton’s Place was born and given a trial run.  Within a few weeks there were weddings, family reunions, and class reunions booked.  Renovations were made and we expanded our facility to 7400 square feet.   It was our goal to bring a premier event facility to the East Texas area.

Today, Shelton’s Place is East Texas’ one stop shop wedding and event venue.  Our huge 7400 square foot, climate controlled rustic barn-style venue is located deep in the heart of the East Texas Pineywoods.  We offer a beautiful picturesque country setting complete with a large pond, yet we are conveniently located 5 minutes from the convenience of Lufkin, TX.  We have state of the art sound equipment, both inside and outside.  We can assist in little, much, or all of your needs when you are here.

Shelton’s Place is the perfect venue for a memorable wedding.  We have a groom’s suite and bridal suite that make the day much more comfortable.  The bridal suite is designed with stations for hair and makeup that make getting ready fun and memorable.  Both suites are furnished with private restrooms for the bride and groom.  We can assist with everything from planning, to set-up, catering, seating, DJ, floral arrangements, and more!
